Dear Guest,

Did you know research has found 60 per cent of Australian women aged 18 and over aren't meeting their physical activity guidelines? Women in particular, seem to lose the joy in movement and stop participating in physical activity as we get older (yes - I have definitely been guilty)! There is a super #RiseUpAndReconnect campaign being driven by Special K Australia and ambassadors such as founder of Georgia Elliott Sleepwear, Georgia Love and AFLW stars such as Darcy Vescio and Monique Conti who want to see more Australian women re-engage with a sport or physical activity they enjoyed in their youth. I will be keeping this in mind as I continue my commitment to taking on the Formosa Road hill near my home!

Socialise at Sunset was a treat last Friday! It was great to see people logging in from around the country to virtually network! Another wonderful opportunity to hear about what everyone has been up to and meet new members. Each month we connect with different members, friends and visitors and it's your chance to bring drinks and nibbles and enjoy connection and conversation via Zoom. Our next S@S will be on Friday 14 May so lock it in your calendars.

I know you have been waiting for the news and excitingly the next Women's Network Magazine is in the pipeline! Get in quick to secure your space in the next edition. Visit the "Get Published" page on our website to find out more about the opportunities or submit your contribution.

If you have been following along each week with our latest WNA Blogs, you will notice the wide variety of topics that are covered. We have been fortunate to have expert pieces lately on many topics such as digital technology, advertising and marketing, legal services, and health and wellbeing. I encourage you to schedule some time at the start of your work day to read one and absorb the learnings. In five minutes you certainly can learn a lot to take back into your business or day!

For a little something extra this week we have free tickets to two wonderful upcoming movies, and you can read about how the ATO is moving to an online business services portal which will assist greatly in making many business tasks more efficient and user friendly. Additionally, our NSW members will be pleased to read further about the awesome Dine and Discover NSW Vouchers and there is a beautiful affirmation to kickstart your Friday.

Mother's Day is coming up and it's a great time to promote any specials or gift cards that members might be looking for to treat their Mums with! Don't forget to pop them into the WNA Facebook Group!

Thank you as always for your support of WNA and please reach out if I can assist with anything.

What you will learn!

WNA MOVIE CLUB! GET IN QUICK!

It's double the fun this week with two highly entertaining and stunning movie masterpieces for WNA members to enjoy. If you are keen for a movie night or two, I have complimentary tickets to The Father and June Again which you can read about below. Contact me if you are keen to check them out!

The Father - Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins (The Remains of the Day) plays the eponymous role of a mischievous and highly independent man who, as he ages, refuses all assistance from his daughter Anne (Academy Award winner Olivia Colman). Yet such help has become essential following Anne's decision to move to Paris with her partner. As Anne's father tries to make sense of his changing circumstances, he begins to doubt his loved ones, his own mind and even the fabric of his reality. Movie is currently screening in cinemas - tickets courtesy of Sharmill Films.

In the heartfelt dramedy June Again, a twist of fate gives family matriarch June (Noni Hazlehurst) a reprieve from an ongoing illness. Much to their amazement, June re-enter the lives of her adult children, Ginny (Claudia Karvan) and Devon (Stephen Curry) and learns that 'things haven't gone according to the plan.' With limited time but plenty of pluck, she sets about trying to put everything, and everyone, back on track. When her meddling backfires, Junes set out on a romantic journey of her own and discovers she needs help from the very people she was trying to rescue. Movie starts in cinemas on May 6 - tickets courtesy of Studio Canal.

ATO ENCOURAGES BUSINESSES TO SWITCH TO NEW ONLINE SERVICES PORTAL

Here is a task to your to do list! The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has encouraged businesses to switch to its new Online services for business (OSB) portal as it prepares to close down the old portal later this year. In this new move both the Business Portal and electronic superannuation audit tool (eSAT) will be replaced. The new OSB Portal will have all the functions that the Business Portal has, but it will be easier to use and have added functions that assist business.

ATO Deputy Commissioner for Small Business Kirsten Fish acknowledged that businesses will be able to manage all of their entities through one log-in and self-served payment arrangements will be available. Other benefits include being able to access the OSB on multiple devices, including smart devices like your phone or tablet.

Businesses can sign up for the OSB portal here.
