Dear Guest,

We’ve turned the page on the month of March. And what a month it has been!

We are in the middle of a health and economic crisis of unimaginable scale, wishing we could wake up tomorrow to find that it was all just a bad dream. At many of our previous WNA live events, we’ve talked about the concepts of ‘disruption’, ‘being agile’, ‘transitioning’ and being ready to ‘pivot’. But it seems that nothing could really prepare us for the magnitude of the challenges that we currently face.

I know that a number of our WNA Members have had to make some incredibly difficult decisions during the past few weeks about their employees, and even the future of their businesses. My heart goes out to all as we work through the government restrictions and do all that we can to keep moving forward.

WNA has responded to the Covid-19 challenge by taking some important decisions about how we move forward together. It may be some time before we can again enjoy the inspiring companionship at WNA live events.

But we’re not going away! In fact, WNA will be your constant ‘virtual’ companion over the coming weeks, and perhaps months, of isolation and work-from-home scenarios. Keep reading to find out about our first season of WNA Virtual and how you can continue to access learning and networking opportunities through your WNA membership.

We will be stepping-up our social media presence and placing a much greater focus on profiling WNA Members and their businesses. Stay tuned for more exciting news about how we’ll be rolling out new ways to deliver the latest and best business skills for you to not only survive, but to thrive.

Every Friday, from today, I’ll be checking in with you by email and providing my selection of tips and links to make the most of your time in social isolation. Keep reading… the Chris Hemsworth freebie alone is worth it! As always, I welcome your feedback and suggestions.

In this first From the CEO’s Desk, I’d like to say a very big ‘thank you’ for keeping me personally inspired and motivated during some difficult days.

Don’t forget to pick up the phone and call someone, whether it be simply to check in on them or to discuss ways you can work together for the greater good.

And before I go, if you haven’t registered for today’s “Socialise at Sunset” virtual chat, it’s not too late, just follow this link to register and pop a bottle in your fridge to chill!

As you all know, WNA is a wonderful way to connect and collaborate. Now more than ever, we have to work together and help each other through this difficult time.

I am privileged and proud to work with you all, and I’m here to help in any way I can.

Best wishes

Janelle

WATCH
Take a look at Brene Brown’s “The Call to Courage” on Netflix for a few laughs as Brene discusses what it takes to choose courage over comfort in a culture defined by scarcity, fear and uncertainty.

Checkout “Cooked” on Netflix, starring acclaimed food writer Michael Pollan as he explores how cooking transforms food and shapes our world. There may be some great ideas for cooking meals at home more than usual.

Use your time wisely by getting your home in order courtesy of "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo" on Netflix. Clear out the clutter and keep only those items that spark joy!

READ
If you’re not a television person, you can find books by both Brene Brown and Marie Kondo covering similar topics to their Netflix documentaries. Both are well worth a read.

MOVE
Even though we are limiting our time around others, it’s important to maintain a healthy amount of exercise. With gyms now closed, a number of groups are providing free virtual training that are worth taking a look at including:
